For 20 years Jennifer Davis has been a leading broker in Charleston’s luxury residential market and in the high street commercial sector with a focus on properties within the downtown National Landmark District. Renowned for brokering Charleston’s most distinguished residential and commercial properties, Jennifer’s transactions total over $300,000,000 and counting.

Maison invited Jennifer to join the Maison team in 2019. Known for setting price-per-square foot records for her clients who are selling their luxury residential properties, Jennifer is a broker who is in-the-know about upcoming properties before they hit the market. She ensures absolute discretion and privacy for her clients, many of whom are sellers and buyers of significant properties. Over the past 20 years, she has established long-term professional relationships with the city’s preservation boards, zoning board, architectural review board and with other leading brokers of properties on the Charleston peninsula. These relationships and her knowledge about how the wheels turn benefit her clients. Jennifer limits her client list to sellers and buyers whose needs and priorities align with her skills, ensuring the best possible outcomes. Her relationships with clients are long term, often lasting across multiple purchase and sale transactions and, in some cases, across generations.

Having restored properties in New York City, Fishers Island, the Adirondacks, Harbor Springs, La Jolla, Beaufort and Charleston, she is dedicated to preservation and improvement of historic properties, and shares that passion, and her knowledge, with clients, many of whom have moved to Charleston with the express intent of acquiring and restoring historic Charleston houses.

Jennifer founded Domicile, a real estate investment and brokerage firm in 2007. Prior to founding Domicile, Jennifer was the co-founder of Ibis, Inc., a historic real estate development partnership focused on adaptive re-use of historic properties. Under Jennifer's leadership, Ibis purchased, restored and sold historic properties. This is where she gained knowledge about the best practices of commercial and residential restoration and preservation including negotiating terms, using conservation easements, state and federal tax credits, and navigating zoning and architectural review boards. During her career in real estate, Jennifer has been awarded the prestigious South Carolina Governor’s Honor Award for Historic Preservation and her projects have been the recipients of grants and tax credits from the South Carolina Department of Archives and History and the Department of Interior. She has served on the Coastal Conservation League Board, the Palmetto Conservation Foundation, and the Beaufort Historic Foundation.

Jennifer attended Foxcroft School in Middleburg and her family has been involved in horse racing, fox hunting and show jumping since the early 1900s. She attended The New York School of Interior Design. Her interior design skills are helpful to buyers who are considering design changes to an existing home or to sellers in need of staging advice for their home before placing it on the market. Articles about her design and creativity have been published by the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, House Beautiful and Home Style.

On a one block cobblestone street, in an 1840’s Greek Revival house, Jennifer raised her four children. Two of her children have moved back to Charleston and are raising their families in the historic district. She and her husband delight in their four-and-counting grandchildren.

Little known fact: Jennifer is the author of three children’s books which have been published in five languages by Workman Publishing.
